There have been some Davis students that have signed up for NHPL Summer Reading Program. They each received a game board to check off depending upon how much they read! If your child(ren) would like to sign up, head over to one of the NHPL branches.

Goal: Read 1200 minutes this summer!

Get Your Child READy for the Grade this Summer at NHFPL!
READy for the Grade serves New Haven Public School students entering grades K–3 this fall who are currently reading below grade level. Certified teachers lead small-group and one-on-one instruction focused on strengthening literacy skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Families also participate in weekly family involvement nights that reinforce learning at home.
The 2026 program runs June 29–August 6 at three library locations:
Fair Haven Branch
Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 1–5 pm
Stetson Branch
Mondays and Thursdays, 10 am–2 pm
Wilson Branch
Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 1–5 pm

Davis dates : June 17, 18, 22 are full days of school. June 23 is the last day of school and it is the only early dismissal. Remember attendance still counts and we are a uniform school.

If you have prearranged volunteering for Field Day with your child’s teacher, please see the new times.
Parent volunteers for Field Day must have already been prearranged with the teacher. Due to the shortened Field Day times, we will not be adding new Field Day volunteers.
Davis Academy WILL have field day tomorrow 6.12.26. Davis WILL run on an early dismissal schedule. There is NO after school program. If you need to change your child's normal dismissal procedure, please call 475-220-7804. If your child's dismissal procedure is not changing there is no need to call this line. PLEASE do not call the main office with changes. Dismissal will begin at 1:20 for pick ups. If your child is taking the bus, please make sure someone is at the bus stop for K-2 students two hours earlier than their normal dismissal time. Field day timeslots are changing. If you are volunteering for field day, please check back or check your messages for the new scheduled time.

Good morning Davis families,
This morning there was a malfunction with our air-conditioning unit that rendered the air quality problematic. As a result we evacuated the building for a short time, contacted facilities, and contacted the fire department. We are cleared to re-enter into the building.

I want to share a wonderful summer opportunity for students entering grades 6–8. Yale Community Rowing (YCR) is hosting a free, one-week summer "Learn to Row" program. Led by experienced coaches, it's a fantastic way for students to learn the fundamentals of the sport.

Davis Academy will have an early dismissal today, Wednesday, May 20. There's no afterschool program. Dismissal begins at 1:20, bus dismissal begins at 1:25. If you are changing how your child normally gets home from school please call the main office at 475-220-7800. Please do not call the main office if you are not changing how your child gets home. If your child is in an afterschool program that is not at Davis, please make us aware so we can modify dismissal. Please be patient as the office phones are very busy at this time.
